Native Planting

When you start to think about what plants to include in a school garden, native planting should be a primary consideration. What is native planting? It means using plants that are indigenous to the landscape in which you are designing. Native planting is more sustainable, will typically require less effort to maintain, and will increase biodiversity. This type of planting can also serve as the basis for outdoor lessons.
