This project uses the theme of abandoned infrastructure as a playground. The community was invited to come together with various artists to produce some imaginative play features and attractions. The old rail infrastructure was reimagined as a small amusement park, a place for the public and of reflection.
The reuse of recycled materials, such as tires and other car parts, creates a playful exploration of the relationship between public and private transportation.
Some of the features in this project do not meet Canadian safety codes. However, the concept of repurposing materials commonly considered to be “waste” can be translated to local projects in creative ways. This leads to huge savings when on a tight budget.
