This child care centre is located at BC Children’s and BC Women’s hospitals in Vancouver, provides an excellent outdoor play space aimed at young children. From a water pump that channels water into a squishy mud pit, to plenty of sand, there is endless fun to be had. The natural material palette incorporates pieces of log, grass, small boulders, sand, and plenty of native planting. A repurposed London Plane tree laying on its side in mulch forms an exciting piece of play equipment. In addition, a series of imaginative structures provide shelter from sun or rain and small gathering spaces.
