Concrete

Concrete is a highly useful material that can be used to construct a wide variety of elements on the school ground. It can be used both horizontally, as a ground surface, and vertically. Concrete mounds and dishes, like those seen at Garden City Play Environment, offer a wide range of play possibilities. In terms of finishes, concrete can be coloured through the use of additives, painted, brushed, or even patterned. It can either be poured in place, which works well for more complex elements, or pre-cast and brought to the site, which works well for items such as modular pavers. Poured in place elements such as sonotube steppers are easy to create and offer a high degree of play value.
