Retention Ponds

Retention ponds are an excellent tool for stormwater management, providing a way to collect a larger volume of water in one place. During a storm event, the retention pond will fill with water, which will then gradually infiltrate back into the ground. Depending on the placement in the school yard, it can be a good idea to fence off retention ponds for safety.
