Shade Trees

Shade trees are a key element on any school ground, providing a sheltered place to escape the heat or a light rain. Trees work well where there are benches, rocks, or other seating areas. They can be used to form a boundary around the school ground, or to create a separating “wall” between different areas of the play environment. In addition, trees can be used as part of outdoor lessons, providing a way to explore changing seasons and growth patterns.
