Trellises

Incorporated into school gardens, trellises provide an opportunity to showcase climbing plants such as vines. In addition, these elements create shady gathering spaces in a sunny schoolyard, or provide partial protection from drizzling rain. Don’t be afraid to get creative with colourful materials – while wood may be the first thing that comes to mind when you picture a trellis, metal and plastic can also be used to create different effects. A trellis can also be incorporated with a solid roof structure to create a more effective weather shelter.
