Another way to divide up space in the schoolyard, both stone and gabion walls can be created using largely recycled materials. Digging up soil filled with rocks as you’re excavating for a new school building or play area? Set the rocks aside, wash them, and you have the basis for a stone wall or fill material for gabions. Alternatively, crushed material from the demolition of an existing building can also be used to fill gabions.
